The RRT2 shaft, where it fits into the sleeve gear has 2 slightly different diameters.

The outer diameter is a bush and the inner diameter takes a needle roller. The needle roller has a slightly larger inside diameter than the bush and the shaft has a step to accomodate this. You can see the step on the photo of an RRT2 shaft. It wont fit into the standard sleeve gear unless you size the inner bush to accept it.

Also note no oil scroll on the inner diameter.

hi john ,
if your serious about putting your bike on the road for a few weeks until you buy another mainshaft, why dont you carefully mig the woodruft key to the shaft entering the wire into the chipped parts. use a metal shield between the key and inner primary cover when welding. its a 5 minute job and mig weld is very strong. just  angle grind of the key when you want to change the mainshaft.
