new to the forum. have owned a 53 a10 plunger for over a year now and has been in bits since not long after i got it.
have been busy with other projects but now is the time to get the ball rolling.
my dad also has a a10 plunger chop which is also in bits.
hopefully you guys on here can point me in the right direction in regards to parts supplies and machinist as both our a10 need crank grinding

Welcome!
Whereabouts in the world are you? Got any pictures for us to oggle?

Edit: I don't mean saucy pictures, although you can send them to me privately; I meant BSA pictures, not Boy Scouts America, I meant the motorcycle people.

thanks for the welcomes
 im in kent uk

here is a picture of when first bought.. did have some more but cant seem to find them..

so far have just stripped down and and black primer the frame..
not going to have the japanese forks.. (would ideally keep close to original parts to get the age related plate if i can..)
i bought some forks a while ago that i thought were for the a10 but its missing the left hand thread on the leg. just a larger hole..didn't do enough research on them before buying..

wheres best to post a question, asking about who or where to get the crank and bushing ground?

Welcome to the forum, it's a great source of knowledge and help.
I would check your engine no as it certainly looks a later version, well for sure the cylinder head is.

Hola max- Welcome to Plungie-World, yours looks kinda a bit like mine (style-wise) except for the front end... kids that an inlet tract I see sticking up at the back of the head ?
I also have an ally head and made an inlet tract that places the carby where the battery normally sits (see pic).
Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy

G'day Max,  *welcome*.
She's got a Road Rocket top end so will be hard to fit a carb on her unless you go down duTch's route. I too would like a pic of the inlet side of the head.
Ask questions in the appropriate sections of the forum. There's no such thing as a stupid question, some answers might be  *smile*.

this is the head it had on it. although i'm probably going to get a cast iron one or do a swap with my dad and he can have this one on his chopper if he wants it.

Mmmm, bit of a tortuous route for the intake. Might look good with a pair of TT's though.
Yes a big fin iron head would work well.
