The Shakes
« on: 05.03. 2018 14:43 »
Mmmm...Had to take a couple of sedatives this morning, developed the shakes after seeing the prices of the "classics" and not so "classics" in today's Old Bike Mart....Does POA mean the seller is too embarrassed to reveal selling price?

Normally means that I can't afford it. They will give you a crap trade in and expect collectors prices. Some dealers are nice  *smiley4*

They were absolute flying machines, got a soft spot for them. There is a guy on the south coast that brings some clean ones in from the USA at fair prices. Ebay !

Quite simply it is a fishing expedition. On a personal level if I see POA, phone, offers, or ask in any ad then I would not even contemplate doing business with the vendor. If they cannot be straight and state an asking price then I cannot be bothered with them.

In the early '90s, Money magazine had a Triumph Bonneville on the cover and touted it as an investment. Prices went up rapidly after that. As I had multiple Triumphs, 2 commandos, a Lightning, a 441 among other bikes, when they started bringing $1500-2000 I figured it was time to start selling.
