DVR2- how and where to mount
« on: 17.04. 2018 14:47 »
I am looking for ideas and pictures on how others mounted their DVR2.

I see a lot of people mounted it inside the old regulator case, that looks nice.

But, I removed the sheet metal divider in my tool box to mount my filter.

I am even thinking about mounting this outside the tool box to leave room for actual tools. Maybe I could make up something to mount this below the battery? Maybe its own metal case I can bolt to the bike *conf*

The whole project is starting to come together very nicely now, and there is only devil left in the small details from this point. *smile*

DVR2 is the best regulator going. I stuck one on my M20 a few years ago. It fitted inside the body of the old regulator.

It is always handy to have a mate with a sidecar for one or two tools.

I put my DVR2 in an old mechanical regulator box, (I think someone here may have kindly donated to me); the sort that have a lid retained by a swing over clip; see stock image. On my machine the cut-out sits on the rear guard under the saddle so is very visible. I wanted any modernisations on my machine to be subtle.

On my plunger it's in the old reg bx and on my s/s it's mounted between the two top frame rails under the tank with a bit of rubber and zip ties.

Here is what I came up with. I am going to make a terminal strip to wire dvr2 to the bike and do it all in the tool box.
