Hello,
I joined the forum yesterday and reading the previous topics has been interesting. I own a black '61 A10 which I bought in Perranporth back in 1984 and rode around Cornwall and up the M5 a few times. On one journey up the motorway in '89 the engine gave a little cough and when I pulled the clutch in the engine locked up solid. It turned out that vibration had broken the oil feed pipe to the rockers, dumped all the oil and the cam seized up.  Until last year it has sat in the garage gathering dust as life, career and family took over. A work colleague has been badgering me to get it back on the road for a while and we set a target date for last years Distinguished Gentlemans ride. It needed a new seat, tyres, rebore, crank grind, an SRM oil pump and of course a new cam and bushes, apart from that it is all original albeit a bit rusty and a couple of dings in places but nothing serious. I made the deadline (still finishing off at 11 oclock the night before) and rode the bike for the first time in 29 years in the company of other classic machines around the same roads as when I was younger! Since then, weather permitting, I have ridden it almost every week and rediscovered the joys of riding the thundering beast again. I look forward to participating in a few rallies this year and making new acquaintances on the classic scene.

Welcome, Love the DGR. Great charity and get to see some quality machinery. This forum is really useful, wish it had been around when i first got my bike in 1988!
