LED indicators
« on: 18.04. 2019 12:39 »
Hello All.
The LED indicators that I have fitted work OK when the SR is stationary but flash like mad when the engine is running.
Quite distracting especially as they seem to be tapping out a SOS...
Any advice gratefully appreciated as usual.
Cheers, Hadrian.

Hi Hadrian

Did you fit an LED flasher unit? They are different to the type used for filament lamps as the LEDs do not draw enough current to make them flash correctly.

My son just had the same problem, having fitted led lights to his chinese heap. What you need is an electronic flasher unit (they call them relays nowadays - no idea why). They are wattage unconscious, unlike the mechanical ones which require a certain wattage to energise them.

Thanks for the responses.
I will swap the relay for the correct part.

Hmmm...
Just checked the flashers and they are in fact the ones in the photo.
Is the product description just a lie or is there something else going on?
Cheers, Hadrian.
