Nice job. Where did you get the seat - or is it home built?

G'day Norsa1.
I think you might get a few questions about the bike so started a new topic for it.
Great work mate.
What front end is it. Double sided single leading shoe brake?
Is that a pair of PWK carbs?
Cheers

Nice. Looks like it's going fast even while standing still. And that front brake...

The featherbed is good but the BSA frame gives it a run for the money.

greybeard BSA frame is a LOT heavier than featherbed but as trevinoz says gives it a good run handling wise

Tasty. That's a Laverda front brake isn't it?
How does the kickstart get past that gearshift ? (or is it a Mk3 electric leg?)

I agree, on the race track there were more featherbeds behind my A7SS than in front even with bigger motors. Looks like with the crank the kicker should just miss the gear lever. Till the cuff of your pants catches it  *doh*

I have had the bike for fifty years (well sort of) it has been though a number of evolutions.  I rode with the A10 engine for years and they were good, although if you asked more horsepower from it, it tended to blow up,  The Norton motor was designed by the Bert Hopwood and he had a hand in the A10 motor design so this bike was just a progression.

The A10 frame is solid and the bike is a brilliant Roadholder.  The BSA brakes were inadequate and the bike has a Grimeca front brake from a 69 Benelli.  It has a four shoe brake, which looks great and works exceptionally well

The frame is unaltered, and the Commando motor is a shoehorn fit and is solidly mounted.  The motor has a 270 crank to lessen vibrations.   The bike has an Alton Starter which makes starting the beast a breeze.

Anyone know what that tank is from.  I am guessing a Goldstar racer.

I do thank you for not being offended by my modifications.

Brilliant build, I hope you dont mind but I fwded a copy to our local NOT-Run Club and the Oregon vintage.
Yahoo groups is deleting many features including attach. soon and may fold altogether so share while we still can.

(If a group has pictures, tech material or other stuff you may someday have a use for, slurp it up soon, its all being deleted, Some groups are migrating to a new platform.  In the interim, 3 cheers for our admin and site maintainers!!!   *beer* *beer* *yeah* *clap*)

I love well built customs and this is one!   The tank looks like a BSA Spitfire/Hornet scrambler breadbox type tank that someones bashed in knee panels, A local guy was modding tanks like that and I was impressed with his abilitys without cutting out the bottoms (Many asian cafe bikes)  But the fuel cap seems off center so the stock BSA versions are centered on top.  Either relocated or its an aftermarket or even a custom tank.

If you dont mind, can you share some details?  (I love tech!)
A) What brand and model shocks are those?  Ohlins?  Look spiffy, are you happy with them? (its all in the adjustments and specs)
B) Being a NotRun guy myself I notice a few details of interest.  Whats the story with the cyl? Does not look standard finning and those thru bolts.  Is that a Maney cyl?
Would you care to share details of the engine and did you build it or?
C) the Swept back pipes look perfect on there,, are those std Commando swept backs or something custom bent to fit your frame and setup?   Not a lot of swept backs on the market for C-dos right now and many fitment issues on the original style models.  (ill be in the market for some swept backs in the new year)

Anyrate. Well done.  I see you are Canada?  Any chance in the BC area?  I know some vintage bike nutters up there and attend the vintage show up in Tswassen/Cloverdale from time to time.  My friend Todd runs that event.

 *thanks*
