RGS rear support bracket
« on: 23.03. 2020 12:16 »
Hi, 'm in the process for fitting a new rear mudguard on my Rocket Gold Star.  Before I start drilling,, could anyone tell me if there are any seat rear support brackets 42-9199 that have the mudguard fixing holes in the right place. I think he manufacturer must have drilled then bent the profile pulling one hole out of position.....all the brackets I'm looking at on eBay look the same.....any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Howard.

I ended up making my own. Took a few attempts as the bends are quite tricky - may be best to make a pattern from thin ali and copy it.

Hi Jim, thanks for your reply and it looks like I'll probably go down that route as I think all of the supplier's get these brackets from the same manufacturer. Sorry my post only showed 1 photo as I took 3....thanks again.

If the bracket fits the guard OK, wouldn't it be easier to fill the wrong hole with weld and drill a new hole?

Thanks Trev, that’s another option👍. Wish I was still at work as I had access to all engineering workshop facilities.
