After 3 years! And thanks!
« on: 10.04. 2020 13:05 »
Finally got round the block after 3 years and two rebores.
Thanks to all on the forum for their invaluable help.
Just got to get the sidecar alignment right now and stop the smoke.
Toe in and lead are OK but I've got too much lean out.
Thanks  again everybody.
Adrian

Nice looking outfit Adrian.

Just a tip when setting up the sidecar. Sit on the bike with somebody in the chair (or some bags of sand) and get someone to strap down the suspension front and rear and on the sidecar wheel so it sits as if it were fully loaded when you get off. Then check the alignment. I have found that if you set it up unloaded then it is a mile out when you ride it and it steers like a pig.

Regards

Good idea, but easier said than done in lockdown. I’ve had chairs before so the setup will be OK eventually. The reason the lean out is wrong is because I couldn’t do what you suggested Jim.😒

Beautiful sidecar! I wish we could find them affordable here in the States. Unfortunately, when I do find them, they are STEEP in price!

It was it easy to find here. I’d just about decided to buy an expensive new one when this one in very good condition turned up about 15 miles away. It was gong to be attached to a Sunbeam S8. Rare old job making fittings for the plunger frame.
Adrian.

Sit on the bike with somebody in the chair (or some bags of sand) and get someone to strap down...

Just don't tell the wife she can be replaced by bags of sand. i'm not touching the rest of this line.
