Dynamo connections
« on: 13.04. 2020 11:30 »
I have the standard push in dynamo connections on my plunger A10.
They are a bit slack and keep flying out. I can cure this easily by squeezing them a bit, but my question is - has anyone come up with a better connection system?
Just curious.
Adrian.

Someone called Lucas came up with a little plate and a screw to hold them in.

Oh dear - never had one of those - how embarrassing after 3 A10s.

C'mon TT, you could have shown the rubber boot as well. Adrian has perhaps only seen the later pressed steel cover.

Adrian, Get the connectors soldered to the wires, they push into the dynamo, held by that little bridge piece. A stylish rubber boot keeps out the weather. We used to just push the bared wire through the connector, bend it back, jamb it in. The bridge piece did the trick, held it in place, OK. But for reliability, a good soldered joint helps.

Gidday all. Does anyone have the part number for these connectors? Or are they just a big bullet connector? Cheers

They are usually called split sleeves.
Many suppliers have them but the last ones I bought were too long. Typical pattern parts.

They're not normal bullet connectors. The open end is swaged out so when held in with the plate, the swage presses against the female part and makes good contact.
