Petrol Tank Sealant
« on: 15.05. 2020 15:52 »
I have used POR15 in the past and found it fine. I have another project that has a couple of pin holes near the bottom weld. I appreciate that it can take 96 hours to cure once treated, but is it possible to build up more than one layer before or after curing. Thank you.

I really like the Caswell plating product. I did my SR tank 20 years ago and keep ethanol laced gas in it. It has performed excellently. It goes on fairly thick.

G'day JWO
Taken from POR15 web page https://www.por15.com/POR-15-Technical-Information_ep_62.html  "Apply second coat when first coat is dry to touch with slight "finger-drag" remaining. "

Hi Muskrat. Very useful, I threw the old tin away and could not remember my options. Keep safe and thank you.

You could always do it properly and solder the pin holes...

Problem I have is the welded seam is also sweating and the seam is only 3mm wide, can't get in there to solder it. Appreciate all replies.
