I've made a start - got everything shotblasted- frame repaired and all powdercoated.
My main worry is being able to source all the important small parts, like the gearbox, which came in pieces and there's no clutch at all.
I'd like to think I could be out on it later this summer !!

Yow! Would love to see the powder-coated parts as you have them now.

I have a small question or recommendation. It's certainly no requirement and completely up to you. Do you really want us to call you "Doomtrainbarx" when addressing you directly?  If you like that as your user name, to each his own, nevertheless, your anonymity would still remain in tact if you'd care to sign posts with your first name, which I and others would more likely take to using.

I'll get some pics of the powder coating sorted out.
I was amazed how cheap it all was - if it helps anyone , it was a company called  CBS Engineering in Long Eaton Notts.

A couple of bits powdercoated - bearing in mind the poor condition of the base metal of these components, I think they came out ok - it won't be concours but I'm happy with it.

G'day Dtb (Aussies abbreviate everything!).
Great to see you've made a start. Depending on time and $$ your aim isn't out of reach.
Did you need to use the jumper leads in pic #5 of 1st post to revive the wife when she saw what you brought home  *lol*

Roger,

Apparently the swingarm was baked with the silentbloc  bushings in place. Interested to know the condition of the rubber. I intentionally omitted my swingarm from powder coat to protect the bushings.

Hi Richard,
No, the bushes were fitted after the powdercoating .
I had to cut the swing arm out the frame - the pivot pin and brake crossover shift were effectively 'welded' into the frame.
Not surprising, as it had been buried in a garden since 1971 would you believe.

Actually, from those initial photos I would. But looks like a good start.
