Gearbox gaskets
« on: 26.09. 2020 18:17 »
Took a look inside the A10 gearbox, looks just fine....Are the gaskets necessary for end thrust clearance? On Triumphs I use Loctite 518 sealer and no gaskets...I built an A10 about 20 years ago and don't remember if gaskets were used onthe gearbox outer covers..Thanks

Thanks, I read the thread....I dry assembled the box with no gaskets, seems ok ,nothing binding and  the gear selection feels OK

But....I had a clean area for the gearbox disassembly....I'm cleaning parts and there's a 1/4 inch ball bearing,,Where did it come from? The parts manual shows no ball bearing. The only ball is in he clutch release and it's in place...
