found a partial assembled A10 engine  trying to figure out  the year and I an assuming it is small journal crank and thin flange barrell
engine number     BA 10 3383   I think its around 1954 -55

  engine partially assembled gear box is complete trying to asses a value and if any parts would be useful on my 1962 super rocket  no other bits available just the eng and gearbox

Should be but the later crank and barrels can be bolted in. LJ crank will have the three bolts radially in the flywheel, SJ has six bolts horizontal through the center crank web and flywheel.

 Sean.   If the other bike's a Super Rocket, keep that '53 stuff well away. While oilpump and timing gears will fit, barrel, pistons and head  as a group also interchange, as will the crank, would you really want to swap? Gearbox clusters swap, mainshaft's don't, but the S/A gears are also of an improved design. Kickstart mechanism fits as a group. The camshaft will be a softer profile, again, not much use on a Rocket.

  The pushrods are about the only items worth having for a direct simple swap.

thanks for the reply no wasnt thinking of swapping anything I had a  ad in looking for a set of barrels .....someone contacted me said they had this motor supposed to have been rebuilt by his late father when I saw the pics the gasket set was still in the pkg the cases were put together missing nuts and bolts the cylinders were plonked on top with no nuts the only thing together was the gearbox I passed ....just wondered if any of the parts would have been of any use  to keep as spares is all .
