Kickstart Lever > silencer

Hi Everybody,
Fitted new exhaust system and everything lined up perfectly. However, my kickstart lever now wants to gouge a half inch groove in the silencer. Are kickstart levers available with different (larger) offsets?

Assuming the silencer is as close as possible to the frame, then is your kickstart new? It may need a bit of heat and bending out a fraction.

Hi
Have you the silencer bracket placed outside the footrest hanger?
I had a problem the same as yours, cured it by putting the silencer mount inside the hanger

Thanks for that.
The answer is yes to both questions. The lever is new and the silencer bracket is on the outside of the footrest hanger! I'm going to dig out the old lever, compare them and try the bending option first simply because the exhaust is a really nice well fitting symmetrical job as it is. I'll report back soon.

Got round to it this weekend. Old lever and new lever the same offset. Loosened the exhaust and tried hanger on the inside of the of the footrest hanger. Problem solved, 5mm clearance for lever. Well done Chaterlea

Len you said "fitted a new exhaust system and it fitted perfectly".
Is this a new system you purchased recently and if so where did you get it? One day! I will need an exhaust system for my 52 Plunger and there is a lot of conflicting views on the forum regarding this topic.
Cheers Russ

Hi Russ,
Can't help immediately. The bike came with the old exhaust and the new bits for their replacement. I'll try and contact the previous owner and see what I can find out.
