I have just wheeled a 1949 A7 into the shed and having a quick scan around I dont see where the magneto to distributor cap goes at the mag end. I have just finished a complete rebuild on a 1976 R750/6 and this is the next project, I will need to post some pics for help with the clutch side as there is nothing there other than the engine sprocket and recoil spring so help in compiling a parts list would be great do I need to have done a set amount of posts before I can add pics ?

There is no distributor / cap on those engines. Plug leads come straight from the magneto (which has a cap blanking off the end). Best post a pic of what you're about ....

If you have a wire connection point in the magneto end cap, it's for the lead that goes to the kill button on the handlebars. I say "if" because some end caps have the button built in.

As for pics, are you interested in learning how to reduce their size? It's quite easy, but no need explaining if no interest.
