INTRODUCTION
« on: 10.01. 2007 11:00 »
Hi all, my name is Ian from brisbane Australia. I have just purchased a basketcase (1951 A10 Golden Flash ), less both mudguards and tool box. Clearly I have a long road ahead in restoring this bike and so I thought I would join this forum as a good resource. Looking forward to any suggestions, ideas as I go along. Cheers

Hi there Ian! Welcome along to our forum and good luck with your restoration. I suppose the length of time largely depends on the hours you put into it although I gather that much time can also be spent in waiting or searching for parts. The forum is an absolute must if your unfamilier with a paticular bike and Im sure that the members will be willing to help with advice and photos. Good luck and enjoy!

Ian,
I have a 51 frame with 52 engine plunger. Welcome to the board. I think you are in luck as far as parts. I have seen some good plunger frame parts on ebay..and other boards coming out of Austriala.
Cheers,
Pollock

Hi Ian.
I'm sure you will find this forum a wealth of information as I have.
Not having a mechanical or engineering background I would be lost without the sage advise of the contributors.

It's always a good idea to check the date of a post before replying  ;)

OTOH I do wonder how a 12 year old post comes up on "show unread post from last visit"

It was Mr HDawson's fault.

Yes, the 'mobile' theme that loads when visiting from phone\tablet lacks the post dates. And no sign of that being fixed until the long awaited and overdue new smf version is released. It's work in progress, no set date.

Chosing 'show desktop version' in the browser menu will get the dates.
