You could be on to something there Musky. Given the level of confusion during this whole build there's every chance mish mash has resulted. I'll go back through all my records and see what I have.
Hopefully if there is wrong parts there, I can sort it from the outside.
Will follow your suggestions Swarfy. I used loctite on the ball and spring cap so it shouldn't have come out.
As you point out, some wetsumping is to be expected but I'm thinking that 150ml in 12 hours is a bit much.

Even though the motor is considered a dry sump there will always be oil in there. After a run and cooled there will be about 150ml that will come out the drain plug (sump plate).
Were the oil pump nuts tight? I have seen them loose if a too thick gasket is used and settled.
Good idea of Swarfy to back flush the AWSV via the PRV hole.
Before the rebuild my A7 would dump the whole oil tank into the sump in a bit over a week!

Gidday all.
Think I might have sorted the problem.
Took the timing cover off and removed the oil pump.
As mentioned I fitted a SRM pump during the build. It came with the extended gasket that also goes under the forward mounting bolt.
Here's where I think it went sideways.
During the entire build I practically lived on the forum here getting info and guidance.
All good so far.
I've obviously confused myself again (no big surprise), but I went and put a small fiber washer under that front bolt. So am guessing the pump wasn't flat on the deck. Checked it with a straight edge and looks I might have got away with not distorting the pump body.
Anyway, took the PRV out while I was at it and gave everything a blow out. From what I could see, the AWSV looked clear.
There was a blob of grease in the pump cavity from the cover gasket so cleaned all that out as well.
Will refill the oil tank and see what happens.
Was going to start a separate thread regarding the clutch but seem to have sorted that as well now.

Think you have nailed your problem with the fibre washer, quite satisfying when you find the cause, very much doubt any damage to the pump body, which is machined aluminium, as opposed to an alloy type casting of the original.

That is good news. But how did it go OK for 1000Km and only just give trouble.
With the pump sitting sque-if your lucky it was feeding the crank.

Good question and I have no idea what was going on.
If it wasn't for the clutch issue I wouldn't have had the primary cover off and would have been none the wiser there were other issues.
Haven't ridden the Beeza in a while as the Bonnie has been getting all the attention.

Gidday.
Rerouted the cable, and backed everything off. Had the 6 adjusting screws in way too tight.
Just tighten everything up a little bit at a time.
Much improved.
