a bantam just get her a chicken or a duck , me duck, *bright idea*--- Derbyshire saying from times past and present  , how a thaa goin on me duck!?? -------and you get eggs for nowt, haha *good3*.  i did not go to the pub chesterfield is flooooded so i went leak hunting in my garages and one of the garages has a spring coming up through a crack in the concrete floor  *pull hair out*, muchos plenty rain ... at least i know where to get a water supply from when i have to move into one of them . moderator police this will be back on topic shortly so  bugga orfff i am on one , i haven't got my maggi back yet for the berglar build to keep me semi occupied and quiet so there, ner ner na ner ner .  i have decided that brandy and black&tans work better than double diamond and they reckoned that worked wonders. i have water driving into my living room from the top of the window and bottom of the door. carpet pulled back and newspaper down to soak up the water until i need an industrial pump to send it back out , i drilled the bottom of the door frame to let it out. the things i have to do! *bash*. never mind i could or could not be the pillocks who drove into 3ft of water and ended up sat on the car roof not far from me.    i wonder if they were asked for ID when they got rescued, [ see what i did there back on ID topic. thankyou for listening i am i going to put more pallet blocks on the fire to dry the washing and keep stanley the puddy warm. have a nice day i am  *countdown*

Good God, Bergs, is that the McDs I pass on the A61 to get to yours *????* :o :o :o  That is some serious rain/flooding mate.

Fortunately, where I live is not close to water and is quite high up, so it'd take rain of Biblical proportions to reach me, and probably wouldn't even then (Mount Ararat???).

Is it the Rother that's burst its banks?  Mind you, with that fire you have, you'll have everything dried out pretty quickly.  All the best with it mate.

Worty yes mate correct!!  it's where the river hipper comes down off the hills into Brampton then joins the rother just there. fire crews rescued loads of people last night from there houses up Brampton. 400 houses flooded. there has been anything from a foot to 4 feet of water all over the district, idiots having to get rescued from car roofs as well. people who have been flooded for the first time EVER are blaming new housing estates full of concrete and plastic grass replacing the woods and fields. Matlock and most places in Derbyshire have suffered it's all over the news .

goody goody my water spring coming out of the cracked concrete in the garage has stopped behaving like an uncapped oil well *good3* chesterfield is slowly getting all roads open but those poor souls with anything between 1 inch and 4 feet of water in their houses have got lots to worry about and sort out.  they also have power cuts now that of course will only be attended to on monday because the workers won't come out on a sunday unless they get double time and company's don't like paying double time anymore because it reduces their millions of pounds bonuses doesn't it!!!! you know how it is bonus for FAILURE and NEVER held to account ,,,--- never mind toby perkins the local   { asshole } MP *razz* has been helping out with tea and biscuits for the hundreds and hundreds that had to leave home or get rescued from their homes. the best laugh i have had is Matlock council sending a man with a van to clear the leaves from the top of road side drains!! *whistle* these idiots in charge need hanging from the nearest lamp post because if they hadn't stopped funding for river bed clearance and road drain cleaning 30 years ago half of this mess wouldn't have happened.!! instead they use the money to buy plastic flower planters imported from china  , filling them with pretty plants and saying " look what we have done for you" when they win the competition of chesterfield in BLOOM. then they have a meeting about how well they have done for us , pat each other on the back then have another meeting on full expenses about the first meeting in the poshest hotel they can book ---- haha what a joke.  JOKE!!!! *bash* VIVA REVO!!!! rant over. thankyou for listening have a nice day , thousends where i live won't because of those wnkers decisions over the years, oh and don't tell me they can't dredge rivers because of the precious environment and little creatures in there BECAUSE THE BSTDS PUMP MILLIONS OF GALLONS OF RAW SEWAGE INTO THEM and then get us to pay the fine through the next water bill!!! VIVA REVO

Rex forget global warming this is the same area in 1932. it would help if the drains weren't growing trees out of them and the river beds got cleared like they did 30 years ago but hey ho the council have better things to spend the money on, like importing plastic planters for vanity projects etc.

Aye, I recognise that bridge and approach, it's just the lake that's the problem. *wink2*

TBH Rex, I would credit most people on this Forum to have the intelligence not to read, or believe, anything on the Biased Broadcasting Corporation - it's almost as *carp* as The Daily Fail, The Daily Excess, The Scum (Sun), or The Farce (Star), not to mention the Shiver (Mirror) or the Polygraph for all the rubbish they spout - I used to run a small newsagency. *smile*

A while back, I asked the council to clear the drain in our cul-de-sac as it's outside our house and all the rainwater runs into it.  No joy, so I went out with a spade and did most of it myself!  Totally agree with your sentiments on the state of things!!

Come come Worty, no mention of the biggest offender in the BS stakes, the Grauniad?
