Hi Heiko,

Seems you've drawn a blank so far on here with this.
I'd be sending a PM if PMs accepted pictures (you don't show an email address in your profile) so here we go  . . .

I don't know if what's in the picture would help / suit?
It's a reasonably decent one. Missing the big dished washer and the horseshoe washer, but the left hand thread still works (for how long? who knows!?) and the movement and springs seem smooth and correct. I haven't opened it up to examine the mechanism for wear on the inside, but there's nothing obviously 'bad'. A new fibre pinion is lying around too if you wanted - the one on it isn't bad to look at, but as you know they don't last for ever and are a pain when they shed teeth.

If it would be of any use, let me know. It also has the advantage of already being in Europe and therefore easy to send at sensible cost without paperwork.

Cheers,
Bill

Hi Bill,

thanks for your offer. I thought that my Email address is displayed in my profile I also got no PM. Anyway, how much would you like to have for all parts?

Hi again,

Can't see an email address on your profile, but will send you a PM as it won't need a picture now that I've cluttered up the thread with one!

Without picture is fine for me but they are allowed… as the settings say.

Thanks a lot.

Glad to be able to help Heiko.
If you could reply to my PM of yesterday with details of where to send it etc - that would be handy and I can get it into the post for you!

Blimey, look at the mangle gear on that.
Velo's, being the  machines that they are, have a much finer gear pitch... ;) and likely fit only Velo's, too.

When I was looking, the C washer etc spares were available on Ebay. I think one of the mag repairers has a line on Ebay sales.

Yup, Velos have that fine-toothed helical job Rex, which is 'them only'. But most ATD drive gears are unique to the make, Trihard and Beesa are very different from each other, and so it goes on. Vincent also used a very chunky 'mangle' gear as you graphically put it! (with opposite sense of operation).

The odds and ends are all available as you say, for pennies really. but sometimes it's easier for people in Europe to try British Only Austria first, or one of the mag repairers in the EU, as they'll have dealt with all the import stuff. Nothing worse than ordering a £3 part and then maybe (see previous threads on all this malarkey) paying three or more times more in fees and taxes for just that one little thing ....
