petrol tank

need a good sound petrol tank for my A7ss, does not matter if it needs painting, the indian one sprung a leak at about 2 years old and only a couple of thousand miles. not good wont buy another one of those.

has anyone bought a tank from Classic Bike parts in Cheshire ? they seem to have some uk made stuff, not cheap  but if they are any good its worth buying.

Had the same thing happening with an Indian tank. It sprung a leak at the bottom welding seam right next to the fuel tap. A mate silver soldered it and it’s still good since. Cost me a beer   *smile*

tank  liner is always an option until you get one , have you tried any repair on it like brazing or silver solder?

Rocker21, I purchased a 1958 A10 fuel tank from Classic Bike Parts in Cheshire in December 2024. Please see my comments in the "Indian made fuel tanks" thread. I was unable to post the photos of the original and new fuel tanks for some reason but after some "fettling", I am happy with the product but hope I do not experience the leaks around the welds. Please message me if you want to see the photos I was unable to post on this forum.

i lined the tank with por15 before i fitted it thinking it would fix any possible leaks, but no it leaked, so i will have a look at the auction. and if anyone has a good sound tank that they want to sell i am interested.

done several tanks over the years Caswell has been the best product but instructions regarding prep and curing temps must be followed for success
