Yes, using up bits he had laying around is the only reason I can think of it.

GB a mate of mine who i have known for 60 years and sold me betsy beeza in 1978 fitted a moggy 1000 engine in a reliant robin, the air filter ended up in the passenger side next to my knees . it had bigger wheels on the back and went very fast, changing gear was a bit awkward with the gear leaver being between the seats, it was a good laugh . but THIS is what i would call a mashup.

I might call it an indictment on AMC Twin engines, or BSA plunger frames.

Or a Birmingham Small AJS.

Or a BSAJS.

Would've looked better with chrome or ally rims. Looks OK though.
