I was quite chuffed to get one of these kill switches that screws to the back of the handlebar lever . But as you can see it's empty - Would anyone have any pictures of what should go in there - does it just earth through the handle bars via the steering bearings? Cheers

Pushing the button makes the earth circuit and kills the mag/engine.
I had the same issue as you, and I had to use the guts from a repro "clamp on the handlebars" kill switch. They were identical inside although the body is different.

It should have a round plastic bit with a central connection which accepts the wire from the magneto.

This has come up on Ebay - is this the same as the cheapo copies? - it looks like a brass contact in the middle with a spring or copper surround to it - how does the wire connect?

Ah thank you - so a screw passes up through the bottom to clamp the wire? and the surrounding copper piece - what does that do?
Rex - are the repo's the same?

That's what the button makes contact with when you press it, so the wire from mag gets earthed and kills the primary side of the mag.
