Is this book available to read online or do I have to buy an old copy (thought I had but bought a very similar looking manual that is really just a hand book!)

I would like it if it's still available. I'll happily pay the postage.

Until you get to this condition and age where the family says your library has to go !! I was a huge science fiction reader as a teen and ended up with a monster set of bookcases filled with not only the sci-fi but mystery/murder and all of my engineering and tech books along with a paper library for every motorcycle I owned ! Eventually I have now passed on  1286 (yes, I counted) sci-fi another 2-300 tech books along with all of my info from all the systems I worked on over the years. Having difficulty finding the right person for the bike library.

Mr Munro's most useful publication is a very worthwhile addition, as it explains a lot of the technical aspects considered in the original design and subsequent evolution. It's also written in a hands on practical style and also contains more in the way of workshop data than a Haynes' Manual.

I know of two editions, 1955 and  the second published in 1960, which covers the later swing arm framed models as well as the early Long strokes.
