Hope My question isnt deemed to be sacrilageous (spelling) but has any member fit the SRM cush nut to the B33 crankshaft ?
I ask as certain dealers list the nut as being suitable yet SRM themselves say it is unsuitable ?
My original nut is past its best through abuse .
Also could a knowledgeable member please confirm that the cush drive components are the same as for Our beloved twins please ?

I cannot understand why the SRM  nut should not fit as the threads are the same ?

Belated Happy New Year to all &Thank You in advance ,
Steve ..

I own a 1955/56 B.S.A Swinging Arm "Golden Flash" , had it since 1976 .

The cush nut 42 0071 which the SRM nut replaces was introduced for the 1956 season A7 A10 and B31 B33. The cush components were modified to move the primary chain line out by 1/8 inch and a spacer plate added to allow space for fitting the fully enclosed rear chaincase. The clutch centre was also modified to keep it in line.
These mods were not applied to the Gold Star. So maybe that is why SRM say not for Gold Star.
