New to the world of A10's
« on: 28.02. 2026 09:57 »
Hi everybody.
Ken is the name and thank you for letting me join  your group.
Ive recently just purchased my first A10, its a 1957 golden flash ,  and now as I dig deep into it , I have found it needs alot of engine work , mostly bottom end.
So i will try post some pictures when I can and will also trawl through here to see if I can learn some more about the a10.
Thank again and hopefully chat soon.
Ken

That's a very nice bike and looks very original, though the tank is from an earlier model.

Thank you very much.. always wanted one , looks like a complete bottom end rebuild so far ...so the hair pulling has begun.

Welcome Ken. Take a different look at that nice machine. Don't view it as a problem... it's an opportunity! Enjoy fixing it up and the ownership will be all the more gratifying!!

The tank is correct for 1957.
The horn is on the wrong side but it is a beauty.

Hi All,
Ken has been in contact with me off forum regarding his Flash,
The crank that was in it was a small bearing one,
When did the A10 cranks change from small to "heavy" to large journal  *????*

With some luck I hope the spare LJ crank and rods I have will wind up in Kens cases
I want to check the crank out thoroughly and also crack test it, ( I have a contact with the testing gear)

John, the LJ crank was introduced for the early DA10 engines.
SJ cranks are OK, I am running one in my 55 Flash.
