'47 & '48 Crinkle Hubs
« on: 17.04. 2026 11:34 »
I've just received a hub from a parts dealer - 67-6021 for the 1947 Rigid A7.
I thought these hubs were smaller across the plate end but this one measures 4" across the plate end and the splined end. Does anyone know or could they measure the smaller crinkle on a '47/'48 hub for me please? Cheers

I have one and it's 4" and 3 1/2". I've tried to post a pic but the file is too large.

Thank you for your replies.
This is the response from the dealer :- "Regarding the BSA Hub 67-6021 you received, I am not aware of an alternative setup for this part. These hubs are designed to be interchangeable between the front and the back, which is why the measurements are the same on both sides."
Tomcat - would you or anyone else with a hub photograph a Rule across the smaller hub side to educate the dealer oin the 67-6021 hub?
Beeza - what have you shown in your picture - to me it's not clear.
Thanks again.

You should be able to distinguish the difference, these are both LS, the non splined side is 3.5” and the splined side is 4”.
They are turned opposite to each other, and you can notice the difference in the bottom crinkles to each other, hope this makes sense, I can post a pic with a ruler, but as Tom Cat says and I’ll confirm 4” splined side and 3 1/2” cover side.
By the way the dust cap is also smaller diameter too, and I need 2 of them.
They are essentially the same hub, just that your supplied one is for a later model, and will work front and rear, and will be easier to find the dust covers.
Cheers

Eventually the vendors have accepted a return.
So has anyone in the UK here got any 1947/8 hubs they'd be willing to part with? Failing that I do have later hubs , one a Plunger that  doesn't have the rivets showing and this one pictured with the rivet heads. Has anyone ground back and  welded up the rivet heads.

I think I have a '47-48 complete wheel (less spindle) with a rear brake drum fitted.
