Front Wheel Spindle 1947/8 - 67-5523

Hi, Could anyone give me the dimensions for a 1947/8 front wheel spindle? A photo would be nice too - looks like I'll have to make one. Cheers

Should be in my shop Sunday I hope (not getting around great after breaking my femur two months ago) I believe the wheel for my second ‘48 A7 would be easy enough to remove the front spindle so I might be able to help out.

8 3/4” long, from under head, 11/16” diameter, or 1/2” longer than a B series plunger axle, distance piece will be longer too and I need to find/ make a distance piece

Tried to get to mine yesterday but it is now buried behind grain for the steers. Since I broke my femur in April I am not using the shop much so it is being used for grain storage. I will get the 4H granddaughters to move their grain this week and might get into that area again soon. I have to get to my assembly bench as well as I need to get back at my ‘40 VA500.

Nourish i don't know if there is enough length for LHT on these and i scrapped the one i butchered as a lad after dad made me a new spindle with a nut for security . i damaged the fork leg as well trying to undo it the wrong way but these are what i found in a box.

it would help if i knew what 1947/48 spindle looks like i can't find info on one. if it similar to the single sided later bikes these will probably be no good anyway because they haven't got the two different diameters .

I think Beeza has shown us that they look just like the B series 7" single sided hub spindle but as the yokes are wider the A7 spindle is 1/2" longer at 8+3/4" from under the larger diameter head.

ok nourish mine are no good not long enough. it seems if you can't get one you need to start lathering and turning some swarf , eh swarfy

Hi all, I've updated my drawing - is anyone able to confirm and maybe offer me the dimensions for A and B?

A = 21/32 that’s the biggest of the 3
B = 13/16.
My one isn’t original, just 1/2” longer and stainless steel.
