Plunger headlight

Did the early plunger headlights have spacers between the ears of the fork shroud and the headlight? Have seen nothing in any parts book. There’s a gap on mine both sides so wondering if the ears have been bent out the way.

Mine has/had gaps too, so I turned up a couple of alloy spacers rather than just crank up the mounting bolts to pull the gap closed.

Thanks. That was my plan. Tightening up the bolts to close the gap pulls the “ears” in at a funny angle and puts me in fear of distorting the headlight
