MU42 Headlight fittings
« on: 29.05. 2026 18:49 »
I have an MU42 6" headlamp with the instrument panel. Is there supposed to be rubber beading under the panel and around the headlamp glass? Cheers

Below from Lucas shows the position of the beading on the MU42. Don't know about the panel.

Pretty sure it should be the 8” headlight, not sure of the number, mine is painted over so I can’t read it.
There was a LS headlight post a while back. Cheers 🍻

Lucas lists show MU142 for 1947 and 1948, which have 8 inch rims then SSU 700 pre focus type for 1949. The U means fitted with a switch panel.

"Pretty sure it should be the 8” headlight" - It should be but this is what I'm going to use. Cheers
