Can't seem to find any mention in the service book, central on the bottom engine casing.

What are we looking at? All I can see is the gearbox cam spring adjuster.

This adjuster with a locknut puts pressure on the plunger the sits on the gearbox change cam. Tighten it and it will be need more pressure to change gear. Slacked and it needs less pressure to change gear but equally will be easier to move past the gear to the next or a false neutral between gears.

If your gearbox is working fine leave it alone.
