Some A7's on show

These photos are from 2 local events - The Triumph owners Club concourse at The Carbrook Inn, Sheffield and The Sheffield And Hallamshire Hope Show.
The TOC meeting attracted over 200 bikes last Wednesday evening, mostly Triumphs but a good few Beesa's and others.
The annual Hope Show was incredible with literally hundreds of cars, probably 70 bikes on show and thousands of people. The green A7SS is owned by a young chap, paid £3200 for it quite recently, a nice bike in near standard trimWe had the pleasure of riding home together from Hope and experienced fantastic harmonic resonance between the 2 bikes as we cruised across the moors.
My lad was pillion and had the video running for the entire run, I will be putting it up on Youtube this weekend.

The owner (we can only see his lower face) was well over 70 and told me he had built the bike from various bits and pieces for his grandson. The engine was sweet as a bird, it sounded brilliant.
But indicators ................ well maybe for your grandson !

I was referring to the valanced guard and '58/'59 forks.
The pre '60 SS had the rounded guard and from '60 had the same as everything else.
I think that the A7/Flash guard looks a bit stodgy on a sporty bike, but I am not detracting from the standard of the bike.
We all use what we can find.
The other one with the sprint guards is what should have been used from the factory!
All in all, both very nice bikes.

I was wondering about that front guard and went and looked at mine, the tank badges are 60 on but the guard has two stays wich is earlier.

im not a purist and believe that bikes are for riding and as you say , use what you can get and keep it ridable

I just thought it looked a bit heavy and out of balance with the rest of the bike

            Your front guard is correct. The single stay was introduced in 1960. Before that there were two.
The single stay and "Y" bracket is not really good enough and leads to cracking of the guard.

As I mentioned earlier, my son on pillion filmed our rides to and from The Hope Motor Show in Derbyshire.
We were on my 1961 A7, my friend on his 1959 Enfield 350 Clipper.
The ride back also included the 1959 A7 SS with the dodgy front guard mentioned above.
I've edited it down to 5 minutes or so each way with some nice shots as the bikes overtake one and other.

All rather self indulgant (or so my family tell me) but it might be of interest on here.

Great videos love the sounds, your lad should get a job as a film camera man sitting backwards on a bike like they do at the running marathons.
