A7 or A10 Frame

Hello from Sydney Australia, This is my first post and hoping someone here may be able to answer my query. I recently bought an A10 that needs some restoration and TLC, anyway my query is I checked the engine and frame numbers on the UK BSA website as the bike is not registered. The engine number is ZA XXXX and frame number A7RXXX. According to the BSA website the frame is off a 1949 A7 and the engine is 1950 A10, Now I'm sure I've seen one or two A10's on the net for sale with A7R frame numbers so is it possible that BSA used A7 frames on A10's back in the early days or do I have a hybrid A10/A7. Sorry if this seems a silly question.

G'day Tom, Welcome.
                                   All A10/7 frames are A7*****. The frame # should be ZA7 or ZA7S. BSA didn't have matching #'s.

G'day Tom,
                    A7R is a rigid frame as A7S is a plunger frame. The "R" was added to rigid frames when the plunger frames came into production.
The only A10 frames are the Super Flash plunger and RGS swinging arm.

Hi Trev and Muskrat, Thanks for your replies. My mistake I omitted the Z in my post of the frame number it is "ZA7R". I was just thrown when the BSA website stated the frame to be an A7 so thought that somewhere along the way someone had installed the engine into a A7 frame. I have no history of the bike as I bought it from a neighbor who in turn had bought the bike about 5 years ago and had lost the paperwork but had never ridden the bike and has had it lying up in his shed ever since. There were no rego plates with the bike either so I will have to have it blue slipped when I get her up and running. I will post some photo's when I get my 5 posts up.
