Hello from Hall Green
« on: 12.07. 2010 17:54 »
Hi there - just joined the forum and it looks like a great resource. I've just parted with my Velo Venom* and am now looking for an A10 (perhaps RR/SR) to fill the gap.

Long time motorcyclist and have had Beesas in the past - B31, C15, Bantams etc - but all were well-worn and hopefully not representative. I thought it was time I tried a pre-unit twin. I have ridden a couple of A65s in the past but prefer the earlier models. Any helpful pointers welcome.

*Living half a mile from where they were made, I had to have one.......

welcome Ian

I maybe a bit biased here but I think the pre unit twins to be the best they made, the later units seem to have lost something and are the beginning of the end for bsa

ive never ridden a venom but always liked the look of them

G'day Ian, welcome to the forum.
I tend to agree with Mike, I like the pre-units, but if someone wants to give me an A65 I'll take it. Just yesterday I was offered a '68 A65T and a '69 A65L for $6000AU the pair, I'll offer him 4.
There's always A10's for sale, just do your homework, ask ? here and a picture paints a thousand words.
Good luck.
Cheers

Welcome

Just joined myself.  until 1999 I worked at the Land Rover Plant in Solihull for 10 years so know Birmingham well. Over in Kettering now. I've not had my 61 GF long but must admit I'm smitten already.  Mind you I would be with a Venom as well!

Unfortunately not, it was demolished several years ago. The site is now used by Goodrich Engine Control Systems so is at least still in the engineering field rather than a superstore or a car park.

Hi Ian... Nice to see you found your way here. Nice looking A10 too and I hope you get much pleasure out of riding her in which case I know you will. Interesting to see the fork gaiters along with the narcelle an unusual feature that I quite like.

Yes, I think I'll probably leave it like that if only to infuriate the purists.
