Just a note to say hello. I must have been a bit bored today as I dug out the Flash from the corner of the shed and put it on the bench with a view to running it again. It's a '57 Plunger which I finished rebuilding about 10 years ago having owned it for 30 years. I don't know what happend, but as soon as I'd finished the project and put just over 500 miles on the clock down the shed it went. It almost got sold a few years back, but kept stopping and was duly returned (mag condeser?). Anyway, it went back on the bench today for mag removal and a general look over the engine. No doubt I'll be posting some daft questions.

Well, probably should mention that in the intervening years I changed my allegiance to Velocette and that's what I've been riding for the last 10 years. The full nickmane I was given is 'The Kickstart Cotterpin Kid', which came from my ability to shear them (4 of them I think) by not paying attention to the strict Velo' starting routine  - won't mention the Velo' again.

Welcome cotterpinkid! Great bike you have there, both of them.
For all I care, you can mention the Velo anytime, as long as such a nice picture is to follow  *smile*

Good of you to join us Cotterpin! I can see you also like to bash big dents in the exhaust pipe by the kickstart lever too (on Velo), not just cotterpin shearing then.  ;) Very nice bikes... congratulations!

Yes, the Viper / Venom I've just sold was exactly the same - could never get the kickstart to clear otherwise. It would have been nice to keep both the Velo and the A10 but just not enough room.....

The exhaust is a little non-standard, but does the job nicely - hence the 'modification'

Ian, I had to chuckle when I saw your post on the Velo' forum as you abandoned us for the A10, then to see your introductory posts on BSA forums - it's a small world.

Hi Andy,

I'm just a few miles from Walsall. I'm not sure how far the GF travelled before I purchased it, but it was originally sold in Aston.
