Have I done the Right thing? Super Rocket for B33.

Well shoot me down in Flames lads! I've just agreed to part with my export model Super Rocket for a 1953 B33. I already have two A10's and speed is not really my thing, and as nice as the SR looks. I've always wanted a big single BSA. Have I done the right thing??

Haven't you answered that question yourself already? 

Looks good to me however, and considering the number of A10s you have, I'd say you did right.

Not got it yet Markus, and not even seen the B33 which is what I'm nervous about, dealer must also be nervous about the SR. All done over the Internet with photos.... Reckoning day is when it's delivered, we are just going through the courier cost and a photo of the B33's engine numbers. Looking good though! More news later.

I gotta say L J I prefer the B33 to the super rocket if you already have a number of twins. I love A7/10s but I also love thumpin along on a big single.

Yes you have certainly done the right thing. It's worth it just to listen to the B33 and it,s still a Beeza.

Oh dear ! Answering this question could get me in trouble with all the  A owners on the forum. LJ you have most certainly done the right thing.

I have a few A's but I also have a B33 which is, and has been for a long time, my favourite bike. You know the old thing about if your shed caught on fire which bike would you save, for me there is absolutely no doubt, it would be the B33. I have owned my current one (1949 plunger) for ten years.

They are great bikes to ride and mechanically indestructable. No timing side bushes or anything like that to worry about. If the motor is in good condition it will outlast you.

I guarantee you will love it.

Well, I must declare a hint of bias here.......

I didn't swap my A10 as I only have one (so far!) but couldn't resist my B33 earlier this year.. A year younger than yours but hasn't been anywhere for 10 years so I now have 2 projects. The A10 has priority though...........

They're lovely easy going bikes. Yours looks really nice, hope the transaction goes smoothly , I'm absolutely sure you won't regret it.

Well, it's not your oldest bike. That would be the M20, if I'm not mistaken. So we can't say that riding this time machine takes you farther back, but it sure looks sweet. Congratulations. I have a good feeling that the long distance buy is going to work out fine.
