Rufforth Park February
« on: 14.11. 2010 18:53 »
Hello there,
Me and some friends will be in Scotland for February.
Is Rufforth Park any good?
Is it worth the drive south?
Many stallholders?
Is it a biggie?
Cheers,
Iain

Hi Iain,

Rufforth is normally reasonably large.  Well, I suppose it takes a couple of hours to look around properly.

The problem is, in my opinion, it has become a "Sunday Market" type of event with more cheap tool stalls than you would care to imagine.  Also, in early February there won't be many non-dealers prepared to stand in the cold for the morning clearing a few bits and pieces from their sheds.  There will be plenty of stalls selling toilet rolls, cleaning agents, helmets and motorcycle clothing, again depending on what the weather is like.

The best I would hope for would be 3 or 4 dealers like Kidderminster Motorcycles, Richard Deek Trading, BOM Batteries and a couple of traders selling second hand motorcycle parts so it would depend on what you were looking for!!

What part of Scotland will you be staying at??  If you're not too far north it might be worth a visit just to say you've been.

Beezageezauk.

Hi there,
We'll be in Edinburgh and taking in the Haggis gathering autojumble at Lanark. Which used to be worth going to 6 years ago.
My friends are keen to get as much British autojumbling as they can whilst in Britain though.
Cheers,'
Iain

and don't forget to partake of the Haggis itself Iain, ask the locals what's a good one - tasty but not spicy

Also any one from outside UK be aware the Rufforth you want is this one with two Fs as there is another one in Yorkshire with one F
been many years since I was at Rufforth , it was good then but as Beezageezauk says these things do tend to get hi jacked
All the best - Bill
1961 Flash - stock, reliable, steady, fantastic for shopping
1959 Rocket Gold Flash - blinged and tarted up  would have seizure if taken to  Tesco
