Dear all,
For a little light relief here's a challenge for the experts!.
A couple of weeks ago I went to the Shepton Jumble, armed with a list (good) and my memory (not so good).. I got some useful bits from a box full of A10 gearbox parts..
Then I spied this..... Ah, that's just like one of mine but looks totally unused I thought and added it to my spoils.. Of course when I got home I found that my memory isn't all it could be......

Still, it's a beautiful piece of metal and it was very little money so no real problem. I am however curious as to what it's from.. It fits an A10 mainshaft , is 22 teeth but the teeth are wider than the cog I thought it was (about 13/16" or 20mm)...

Any ideas??

BSA used the same shaft diameters and splines from 1910 till 1972 on just about every thing.
Two sizes, light weight & heavy weight so it could come from just about any thing.
If it is really wide then it could very well be from a heavy weight 3 speed box.

Thanks for looking.. As BSA_54A10 says the choice is pretty wide.. Maybe I'll carry it with me to bike events & jumbles to see if anyone recognises it.. It could become a well-travelled paperweight...

Cheers,

It looks too good to waste, you'll have to find the rest of the bike to go with it.
