63 fires up
« on: 27.03. 2011 07:39 »
G'day Everyone,
Getting closer to finishing my '63 s/r. Put the tank off my '61 on
& 2nd kick she fired up, oil returned almost immediatly & she sounded
great, just a few carby adjustments. Running straight thru pipes till
I get the mufflers. I'm still in  the middle of painting the tank & guards
etc., it looks the same colour as the petrol tank in the pic. but the new
red is a metalic pearl & heaps darker than my '61.
Still away to go, but reassuring that it runs well....at this stage!

regards, Cus

Yeah, thanks Muskrat.
This bike isn't getting the attention to detail as much
as my last one, the wheels were pretty good etc. so
just put them back on, if chrome parts looked OK, they went
back on. It's a more original bike than the '61, engine had done
very little work, I'm guesing a couple of thousand miles, guaging
by the internal parts, may need new rings after sitting idle for
so long, but will find that out once on the road, but doesn't blow smoke
at the moment. The boss said one must go! it's going to be hard to pick
which one to sell, I change my mind almost daily on that one,

Muskrat... Are you trying to put the slave trader out of business? No one wants a Boss, you should know that.  ;)

Good results Cus!  *smile*
