Voltage Reg models?
« on: 06.08. 2011 20:42 »
I've an original Lucas v/reg but the mounting holes are too narrow to align up with the mudguard studs. The v/reg model has the following numbers:

37097     1672
MCR2      6

Is this the standard type for A7's / A10's??

Cheers

RR,
The MCR2 was used from 1949 with the E3L generator.
Swinging arm models used the RB 107 until 1957 and then the RB108.
37097 is a common regulator for the E3L.
I am not sure whether the plunger models continued with the MCR2 after 1953.
The later MCR2 regulators had an identical mechanism to the RB107.

 Trev.

Cheers Trev,
Nice to know that it should work with the plunger - anyway its with a sparky at present who is, hopefully going to test it and set it up correctly along with the new OEM one. Once back it should be ready for its MOT  *smiley4*

Many thanks for your help and advice.
