1953 BSA Golden Flash tool box plunger
« on: 28.01. 2012 14:59 »
Does anybody know or can somebody send me a picture of the exact tool box for this bike, I know that it is the later rounded not flat type, but when I view the likes of E Bay the majority say tool box for Plunger, but I see two different types. The difference I mainly see is at the back, some are flat and some appear to shape around the frame. I live in Spain and have no other bikes to compare with.

Many thanks

Nigel K

This what I've got, maybe the right one, but looking here and here, there seems to be other variants, never noticed it before now.

Yes thats the ones I was talking about, your first picture shows the earlier models and the later one you have fitted is I believe the one I am after, any chance of a pic of its inside, that is where the next confusion is. Is it flat or shaped to the Frame?

Thanks

Yes thats the correct one for your 53 plunger A10. It is flat at the back.

Hi to all, an easy query for u experts, I now have the correct toolbox but could somebody please confirm to me, do I now have to drill two holes in the mudguard and fit the box through and onto the guard and I take its a normal wrap holdr mounting for the top to frame?

Many thanks

That's how mine's fitted - it's got two bolts through the mudguard and a 'P' clip supporting the toolbox where the frame tubing meets the plunger casting - '57 plunger.

Many thanks, I thought so just did not want to go making holes in the mudguard if I was wrong, thanks for the time and effort, all the best, Nige K
