What's worth seeing?

I am planning on wandering round the South of England / Wales for a few days in early June this year. Won't have a bike and will need to "negotiate" the itinerary with the lil lady, so I am looking for classic bike Museums, or jumble sales etc just for interest sake. If you have any ideas, they would be great grist for the mill. Thanks.

Sammy Miller's museum near Christchurch Dorset - drop the better half off in Christchurch for a couple of hours to have a look round the Abbey and have a coffee by the river etc? Sammy's is quite compact with plenty of stuff in it.

Yes Sammy Miller is worth a visit he has a lot of special one off,s. When I went he had an Earles BSA which is an A10 with a difference. Drop the misses off at Lymington about 8 miles away, lovely little harbour town. Have fun.

I'd recommend the Classic Motorcycle Racing Club meeting at Lydden Hill near Dover on the weekend of 2/3rd of June. A huge variety of highly tuned Classic bikes thrashing round a circuit with great spectator viewing. I'll be racing there on my TZ350 and T20 Suzuki, and would be more than happy to supply tea an biscuits and make you both very welcome.
Same goes to anyone else who fancies a day out at a Classic racing event - look on the crmc site for race dates.

I'm being dragged over to France and maybe Germany mid June to mid July.

any swapmeets, rallys, wine festivals or other cultural events on then??

If you include the midlands then the bike museum near Birmingham Airport is worth a visit. Also Coventry Transport Museum has some good exhibits including Ted Simons' round the world Triumph complete with patina.

Le Mans Classic is on this year...

Gavin - if you are down on the south coast at Sammy Millers then try to time it with the Poole Quay bike meet. It's quite a big affair - every Tuesday night.

Not long now Gavin,
Be careful over there. A very large percentage of english immigrants were criminals.
I expect the place is crawling with pickpockets, pimps and conmen.(bit like Kalgoolie)
My daughter and her hubby have now shifted to Berlin and we'll be staying with them for a couple of weeks in June.
Does anyone know anything about the jazz festival in Montreux?
