Of course it can't be true (...even though these days anything is possible), but it's a funny story, may give one some good ideas.

HI there This reminds me about something that happened to me some years ago when driving in Spain we were visiting some attraction I think it was the Alhambra Palace we drove up and this guy directed us and a number of other people into a car park where another guy was showing the cars where to park and collecting the parking charge which was only a few euros not expensive but when we left the car park and walked down to the entrance there were closer car parks which were free and guess what the 2 guys were working a scam that car park was also free. But when I and some other people went back to confront them they had scarpered.

Hi Everyone
Great story but when I lived in Bristol 1970 / 1973 and use to go to the zoo with children, when parking the Morris 1000 in front of the zoo a wide grassed area then a guy would appear with the black cap and you paid him and he gave you plain ticket?

Some times he was there and some times not.
