Jockey shift

 hello,

  There is a guy selling a 56 a-10 set up for jockey shift- he says its all original from the factory. I have never seen this before on a bike this late. Before I travel 250 miles to check this out, did BSA make a foot-clutch, hand shift bike as late as 56-58?

 I am just thinking that if the bike was modified this much from stock, I might as well save the petrol and not bother. But I do like the look of jockey-shift, even if it was a bad idea.

Hello I have never heard of it on pre unit A10s.  It might have been a dealer installed option.  Or...  it could have been a DPO installed option.  On the bright side... parts are plenty-full and probably not be a hard conversion.  Good Luck,  Jeff

G'day, i'm probably wrong, but didn't old police bikes(in Aussie) have jockey shift? also, some bikes with sidecars? Have'nt any photos but i have seen owners add jockey levers. I always thought that was kinda cool, but gee it must take some getting use too. also dangerous!
