Kill switch Gold flash

My magento is Model KF2, Type AC53. Works fine but there is no sign of a kill switch. There is no sign of a button on the back of the magento and no wires visible near to the magneto. many thanks Colin  ( colin.oakley54 AT btinternet.com )

            What type of end cover does your magneto have?

It is not the end cover with the two screws in ( Haynes Manual ). There is a small button at the end in the center but is does not move. By the way I started the old girl up today, first time since it came out of the barn in the wilds of Essex years ago. STARTED FIRST KICK and sounds great. Will give it a serious oil change in the morning and start again.

Colin, on mine to stop the engine the centre threaded stud/brass nut at the centre of the mag's end cap (which could be the small button you mention?) needed to be earthed. To do this without running a wire up to a handlebar switch I mounted a simple on/off switch on the back face of the tool box. There, it's out of sight, giving a modicum of security from being nicked, only a short wire was needed to reach the mag and it's handy to operate on and off.
There should be a spring loaded carbon brush inside the end cover.

 G'day Colin, which of these two does it look like? Both use a wire to earth out the center screw. If earthing the center screw don't stop it the earth brush at the other end needs attention. (screw near the ID plate on the flange)

Musky, my response above is based on the lower of the two photos with the threaded nut/stud in the centre.

In that case you need a wire going from that stud to a push button (like a horn button / Tricon switch) which earths it.

Well I would like the thank all parties that replied. Those two photographs done the trick I now have a kill switch thanks to this forum. If you are bored today look at my sump stud problem that I posted today. I quite expected these problems with a 57 year old Flash.
