Test ride this morning

Took the old girl out for a decent ride today since rebuild. Took a few tools, a mobile phone and my RAC Card. I put a screwdriver in my jacket pocket !!. It went like a dream around the country lanes of sunny Paglesham in Essex. I found that my size 9's were a bit heavy on the gearbox which I will learn to control. Went very well and caused a few heads to turn in the villages, probably caused by my new Gold Star exhausts. When I did have to stop the tick over was up a bit, out came that useful screwdriver and bingo the correct tick over. Superb oil return thanks to the SRM pump. What a pleasure to get out again since last summer on my Model 8 AJS.

 Great to hear Colin. Didn't take all that long either.
1st ride screwdriver in pocket is the correct procedure, they all need to be adjusted once hot.

Main thing with the gearchange is to take your time. These bikes have quite heavy flywheels which don't like to change speed quickly.
