I recon we should play tackle cricket. The bowler bowls, one fielder chases the ball, the batsman runs, the rest of the fieldsmen try to tackle the batsman. It is fair as the batsman has a bat to ward off the fieldsmen  .
The winner pays for the beer and the looser pays for the ambulance.
My bike club had a yearly game against another bike club. No deaths or bad injuries, the beer caused more headaches than the bat.

Five minutes on Wikipedia doesn't make anyone an expert,  but from what I can tell, the new heir will some day be King of Australia (barring tragedy or a change in Constitution) ,  seeing as how Elizabeth is the current Queen of Australia.  So, why not "Congratulations to our Aussiie mates",  as well as "pommies" or Canadians,  I assume.

As for cricket??? (Actually,  I know a tiny bit about it.)

They could choose to name The Prince of Cambridge with a "colonial" name of course. Prince Bruce has a certain ring to it.. Congrats to all of us subjects on our new prince.

Congrats to the England cricket team too, although I would prefer more of a fight from the Aussies to make a bit of a contest. It's must be a bit disappointing for them to come all this way and not put up at least a bit of a fight. Ah well, perhaps we will get more from the Indians?

Quite like the " colonial " theme, how about king Musky ,it has a certain  twang to it ! Richard , I think that every country should have a sport that has a bit of a mystery to others , we have cricket which we exported to a few likeminded countries , which is a closed book to most americans ,you have baseball ( its rounders to us ) and of course rugby in armour,the irish love beating the c*** out of each other with hurley ( sorry John can't remember the name , demonstrating my point really ) likewise the aussies do the same to each other in a number of ways aussie football etc the canadians throw rocks at each other ,was to tame so they put it on ice or throw a wooden ball weighing 2 lbs at 90 mph for you to  catch hopefully in  a net ,whilst the new zealanders inflict there rugby team on us where they usually show us how to play ,interesting world really BobH.
