Bike ID and other questions.
« on: 31.07. 2013 18:40 »
Hi guys I have a few more questions on the bike I am working on. You have helped me out to Identify that it is a 1954 A-10 with Frame #CA7-4868 and engine #CA10-2970. I am also wondering if this is a Golden Flash or a Super Rocket. I beleive it is a Golden Flash since what I read is the Super Rocket did not come out until 1957??? Can anyone confirm? Also I did get the bike running for a few seconds but it kicks back like a mule. I read this may be because the timing is too advanced?

I have read quite a bit but would like some confirmation before I start working on the bike. Any help or pointers would be great.

Thanks,
Colby

Could be a Road Rocket. They came out in '54 IIRC.
Does it have an iron or ally head?
If its kicking back, it could have fixed advance, or a stuck auto-advance.

The kick back has to be advanced ignition. Please post in Lucas, Electrical, Ignition. & lots of posts about timing problems\settings by searching the forum.
