Smiths Speedometer
« on: 29.08. 2013 08:39 »
Hello folks. The machine I am putting back on the road at the moment was in its past life involved in an accident and the speedo got damaged. It fell apart when impacted! No surprise there but due to this (& the passing of time) it now is missing glass, inner bezel & pointer/needle.
Does anyone know of a spare parts supplier for these clocks or have any of you got these parts stuck at the back of your workshop in a tin or some-such and be willing to sell them?
Another thought that occurred is could I plunder one of those cheap repro units for these parts, would they fit?

Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

Thank you all, Paul.

Hi Billy.

Thanks for that info, he sounds like a nice chap but he does not sell spares which is what I would  prefer as I would quite like to have a go at repairing it my self so if any one know of a seller of parts, please let me know.

Thanks all.  *smiley4*

Try Gagg & Son 01159786288, See OBM. they rebuilt mine this year. Other wise I have seen the parts you quote on ebay earlier this year.

Hello Wilko, I have been looking on the dreaded eBay and no luck as yet. Could I ask a favor of you and anyone else for that matter? If you happen to come across these parts on eBay, particularly the pointer/needle, could you post a link on here or message me?  *smiley4*
I think I might purchase one of those cheap smiths copies and see if I can plunder it for usable bits.  *conf*

Thanks again.

Hi WozzA. Thanks for that. For some reason BSAnut doesn't ship to the UK but through your info I have found some sellers that do ship to the UK & provide the same items so thanks very much for your help.  *smile*
