Rev counter cable broken.
« on: 31.08. 2013 11:30 »
On investigating my non-working rev counter I have found that the cable is broken. Where can I get a replacement? The rev counter is a Smiths 1302/00 chronometric and the drive is a smart looking brass contraption. Cable length is 38 1/8th inches (96.8mm).

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi Paul.
Your model takes its drive via the magneto thro an adaptor on the timing cover, no problem getting replacement cable off Ebay. Price approx. £14.00 + postage. The cable you require is longer than the later 1960 Super Rockets with drive from the oil pump.
1960 Super Rocket, owned since 1966, back on the road 2012 after being laid up for 29yrs.

Fitted and all working. Re-routed the cable to avoid sharp 'S' bend in the routing of the old cable that probably caused it to snap.
